Deputy Election Commissioner Lisa Wise
Lisa Wise was sworn-in to fulfill a partial term as the Douglas County Deputy Election Commissioner on May 4, 2006 and reappointed to a new four-year term on January 1, 2008. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Election Commissioner, Lisa served as a campaign fundraiser for both Senator Ben Nelson’s and Mayor Mike Fahey’s re-election campaigns.
In 2000, Lisa was hired by the Nebraska Democratic Party as a field coordinator. She also served as a field coordinator in Mayor Mike Fahey’s first campaign. As field coordinator, Lisa was involved in volunteer recruitment, phone banking, visibility, and staffing numerous campaign events.
Lisa is a Nebraska native. She grew up in Omaha, but graduated from Logan View Junior/Senior High School in Hooper, Nebraska in 1995. After high school, Lisa moved to Kansas City to attend Park University where she studied Political Science and Public Administration. While attending Park, Lisa spent a semester in Washington D.C. interning for Senator Bob Kerrey. Lisa returned to school in 2002 to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she specialized in State and Local Government.
